“Dissolving into Wholeness”

With Neptune in my 12th astrological house, I feel deeply connected to the unseen—dreams, intuition, and collective emotion. In my archetypal wheel, The Healer resides in this house also, guiding me through the realms of the unseen and the sacred creating opportunities to explore moving from Separation to Wholeness.

"I used over 125 thread colors, changing threads roughly every five minutes, and logged more than 129 hours of quilting—though that’s only what I remembered to record. There are no words for the 12th house; it’s felt, not spoken.

This will be part of Soul Stories: Threads of Existence Special Exhibit that will debut in Houston International Quilt Fest 2025. Other confirmed venues included the New England Quilt Museum in April 2026 and Birmingham Festival of Quilts in July 2026.

The Art of Rebellion: Honoring the Rebel Archetype this Independence Day

As fireworks light the sky and patriotic songs fill the air, we celebrate more than just history—we honor the spirit of rebellion that sparked a revolution. July is the perfect time to explore the Rebel Archetype, the fiery force behind independence, innovation, and creative upheaval.

The Rebel breaks rules—not just for the sake of defiance, but to awaken something dormant. She is the one who sees beyond the status quo, who knows that change doesn't begin with permission—it begins with a whisper that says, “There’s another way.”

Just as the American Revolution shattered the old order, the Rebel Artist uses creative disruption to birth new visions. Her art is unapologetic, passionate, provocative. She paints with fire, speaks in symbols, and creates what hasn’t been seen before.

But rebellion isn’t only dramatic. Sometimes it’s quiet, internal, deeply personal. The Inner Rebel shows up when we finally say no to perfectionism, yes to a day in the studio, or when we share our truth through brush, fabric, or voice. It’s the moment we create for ourselves—not for approval.

Of course, the Rebel carries shadow too: rebellion for rebellion’s sake, destruction without purpose, or alienation from others. But when harnessed with integrity, the Rebel becomes a powerful ally. She defends creative time, pushes boundaries with vision, and helps us claim our artistic independence.

So this July, consider this:

· What rules are you ready to break in your creative practice?

· Where have you settled for status quo instead of authentic expression?

· What rebellious act—large or small—will reignite your artistic fire?

Independence was never just a historical event—it’s a creative calling. Let your Rebel rise.

October 2025 Behind the Scenes Photo back layer Completed piece Portal in process I had long wanted to try Wen Redmond’s holographic printing technique—the way it layers light and image always felt like peering into another realm. I finally braved it, and with a little ingenuity (and a touch of beginner’s magic), I created a small piece that feels like a shimmering window into another world. “There’s No Place Like Home” is part of the S.A.F.E. Animal Rescue fundraiser now on view at The Art...

Behind the Scenes Becoming Artist of the Month at The Art Collective Gallery was both exhilarating and daunting. I realized that as many pieces of art that I have laying around, they would not hang well together. I suddenly had to produce 12–14 new works in just three and a half weeks. That deadline stirred up all kinds of inner voices — the survivor archetypes showed up in full force. The Victim complained there wasn’t enough time. The Saboteur whispered that I’d never pull it off. The...

Behind the Scenes Where the Maps End (in progress) I’m fortunate to be a member of The Art Collective Gallery. In 3 weeks, I will be the monthly featured artist. Not having a lot of time to prepare for this, lots of things are surfacing for me. How quickly can I create pieces? How much am I affected by the “commercial” aspect of being in a gallery? Is there a way I can simply my usual way of making larger pieces with a message? At first, I thought I could quickly do studies of color or...
