Behind the ScenesI found myself pulling out 3 spirals that I had created 25 years ago. The vision at that time was an “underwater sea tapestry”. It was to be 8’ long and 6’ wide and hang above my fireplace in a living room with huge cathedral ceilings. So, the question is: Can a piece that had life and vitality in the past be resuscitated? Well, I moved and have no space to put it. I cut into it and separated some of the nautical spirals and am debating how to rework them. Maybe I can completely cut up and reassemble. Maybe I can get a series out of it. Here is what I was working on today. Originally, the piece was a huge landscape and now it is dwarfing into an abstract. No focal point? No message? Three of us have the student archetype so we started with that one and we filmed it. Here are a few considerations: Do you find yourself constantly seeking new knowledge, skills, or expertise, regardless of the subject?
When learning something new, do you prefer structured environments like classrooms, courses, or mentorships over self-directed exploration?
How do I respond when faced with a learning challenge—do I push through uncertainty, or do I hesitate because I don’t yet feel ‘qualified’ enough?
Do I apply what I learn in real-life situations, or do I prefer to remain in a safe, theoretical space of knowledge acquisition?
Am I open to multiple ways of knowing, such as emotional intelligence, intuition, and embodied wisdom, or do I rely solely on logic and facts?
Do I see learning as a personal journey of growth, or do I struggle with a need to always have ‘the right answer’ and fear being wrong?
